| Comment | Glassy moderately to strongly welded biotite quartz latite crystal-vitric ash-flow tuff containing trace amounts of pale-green pyroxene and green-brown hornblende, and abundant fresh biotite. Age agrees well with a sanidine date of 26.1 +/- 0.9 m.y. reported by Proffett and Proffett 1976 from the type section. |
